The Grauen Haus has long stood just over those hills and it's a haunting reminder of time's crippling progression. Originally constructed in 1887 for the reclusive Dietrich family, the house suffered a catastrophic fire in 1891. All five members of the Dietrich family--including young Jacob--was burnt alive.
